Controller troubleshooting

WoW controller camera reversed on Mac? Check the right settings

First identify which stick and direction are wrong. Use ConsolePort or WoW for the camera behavior you want in the game. Use Thumble’s touch calibration only when you need to reverse or adjust the phone’s touch input. Change one setting at a time and retest; changing inversion in two places can cancel or obscure the result.

Name the direction before changing settings

Describe one observation at a time: pushing the camera stick up looks down, pushing it right looks left, or pushing the movement stick forward moves backward. Camera behavior and character movement are different tests.

First release the controls, then test a small movement in a quiet place. Note which controller and WoW client you are using. If there is no response at all, start with controller detection rather than changing axis settings.

For your preferred in-game camera behavior

Configure camera behavior, targeting and game sensitivity in ConsolePort or WoW. Those settings determine how the game interprets the input it receives. Exact menu names depend on your WoW and ConsolePort versions.

Keep track of the original value, change one relevant setting and test the same stick direction again. Leave working movement controls alone while checking the camera. Follow the ConsolePort setup guide if you need to confirm the addon installation first.

For a physical gamepad, also consult the controller’s own documentation if its input is wrong outside WoW. Thumble phone calibration does not change a separate physical gamepad.

For Thumble’s touch-stick direction

Thumble’s calibration adjusts touch input before it reaches the game. Use the calibration option in the Thumble menu on a supported phone build. Builds with Controller settings may label it Touch stick calibration; earlier instructions may call it Stick calibration.

Choose the movement or camera stick, then the horizontal or vertical direction you actually need to reverse. Retest that one direction before changing another. Do not change both sticks as a shortcut for one reversed camera axis.

Current calibration settings apply to built-in ConsolePort controllers and supported synced character controllers. Saved custom controllers can retain their own stick settings. If your build says the selected controller uses its own settings, do not assume a global calibration change will alter that profile.

Public phone apps are coming soon. These instructions describe the documented controls available to supported builds, not a claim that the full setup is publicly installable today.

Dead zone fixes a different symptom

A dead zone is the region near the stick’s center that does not produce movement. It can help distinguish a small resting touch offset from deliberate input. It does not reverse an axis.

If the direction is correct but small touches are too easily interpreted as movement, inspect the dead zone for that stick. If deliberate small movements no longer register, the dead zone may be too large for your touch. Adjust one value and retest rather than copying a universal recommended number.

Persistent movement after you fully release input needs its own investigation. Pause or disconnect the controller and describe the behavior to support instead of hiding it with progressively larger dead zones.

Verify the result without stacking changes

  1. Resume the controller after changing a setting, if your build paused it.
  2. Test left and right, then up and down, on the stick you changed.
  3. Release it completely and check that movement stops.
  4. Check the other stick to confirm it still behaves as expected.
  5. Complete the five in-game checks before relying on the setup.

Phone practice is useful for trying the touch surface, but it does not measure WoW’s response. A direction that feels correct in the phone UI still needs to be checked in the game.

If the wrong spell fires instead

An unexpected action or modifier layer is not an axis-calibration problem. Use the ConsolePort binding and modifier checks. If the action is correct but the phone label is stale, follow that guide’s snapshot-sync section.

For support, report the phone and receiver versions, selected controller, WoW client, which stick and direction are affected, and whether you changed a game setting or a phone setting. Keep pairing codes and tokens out of screenshots.
